This week, we’ve tapped…

Nigel Sylvester x Air Jordan 1 Low OG β€œNitro”

In this issue, we’ll be exploring the Nigel Sylvester x Air Jordan 1 Low OG β€œNitro”

In a world where most collaborators are incredibly lucky to design one great shoe, Nigel Sylvester is gearing up for the release of his second acclaimed project this year. The Air Jordan 1 Low OG β€œNitro” arrives August 2nd, following the success of his β€œBrick by Brick” Air Jordan 4 from earlier this spring.

Built with pre-scuffed leather uppers, a Sail-colored Swoosh and midsole, and Nigel’s signature β€œBike Air” branding on the tongue and insole, the β€œNitro” blends BMX grit with vintage Jordan DNA. A classic Wings logo on the heel and a special β€œJordan Biking Co. 2017” mark inside round out the story-driven design.

Sylvester is easily one of the most exciting Jordan Brand/Nike collaborators right nowβ€”top two or three for sure. The β€œBrick by Brick” was hugely well-received and will go down as one of the best Jordan 4 releases of 2025. His earlier releasesβ€”the Air Jordan 1 in 2018, the Nike Air Ship in 2023 (a gem), and the Air Jordan 4 RM in 2024β€”have steadily built his legacy.

Now, with the Jordan 1 Low OG β€œNitro,” that legacy feels firmly established. Sylvester’s BMX-inspired spin on iconic Jordans is to performance grit what Virgil Abloh’s β€œDIY” approach was to deconstructionβ€”distinct, personal, and era-defining.

The Nigel Sylvester x Air Jordan 1 Low OG β€œNitro” releases on August 2nd through select Jordan Brand retailers and Nike.com. Pricing for the Air Jordan 1 Low OG is set at $160.

This section is all about the buzziest drops, scroll-stopping headlines, and can’t-miss news lighting up the sneaker world each week.

This week, we’re zeroing in on…

Nike Giannis Freak 7 β€œIgnition”

Giannis Antetokounmpo’s newest signature shoeβ€”the Nike Giannis Freak 7β€”is here. Set to debut in a fiery β€œIgnition” colorway on July 29, the model is designed to match Giannis’s dynamic play.

The Freak 7 features a specially-tooled outsole built to support his signature Eurostep. It also introduces a full-length Cushlon 3.0 midsole, marking the first time this cushioning tech appears in a Nike Basketball shoe. Visually, the Freak 7 draws inspiration from traditional Greek sandals, blending Giannis’s heritage with high-performance basketball footwear design.Β

Terror Squad x Nike Air Force 1 Low β€œUniversity Red”

Two years after Fat Joe debuted the Terror Squad x Nike Air Force 1 Low β€œUniversity Red” at the 2023 BET Awards, the shoe is finally set for a retail release on August 1. This bold, two-tone white and red colorway is the latest addition to a growing lineup of TS-inspired Forcesβ€”paying homage to both Fat Joe’s early-2000s Friends & Family Air Force 1s and the silhouette’s golden era. Other notable drops

πŸ‘Ÿ Who says you can’t teach an old dog new tricks? Now 30 years into its existence, the Nike Air Max 95’s iconic design continues to be reimagined by collaborators and Nike alike. This time, it’s the latter giving the silhouette a fresh twist, teaming up in-house with Nike SB for the upcoming β€œCactus Flower” colorway, set to release on August 2nd.

The pair comes equipped with skate-ready upgrades, including extra padding around the tongue and collar, durable suede overlays, and Zoom Air cushioning tailored for impact protection. Furthering the shoe’s skate ties, none other than Eric Koston was seen wearing the β€œCactus Flower” in the weeks leading up to its release. Buy them now β†’

πŸ‘Ÿ The Air Jordan 10 might be the most slept-on original Air Jordan of all time, but maybe not for much longer. On August 2nd, one of the silhouette’s OG colorways, the β€œSteel,” returns for the first time since 2013. The revived release is poised to bring fresh attention to the Jordan 10 in 2025.

Debuted during Michael Jordan’s first retirement in 1994, the Air Jordan 10 didn’t garner the same love as the 9 or 11 that bookended its mid-’90s run. But over time, appreciation for the model has grown, especially for the β€œSteel” colorway, which helped fuel its resurgence during the retro boom of the early-to-mid 2000s.

With its crisp black, white, and Light Steel Grey palette, the β€œSteel” slots neatly into today’s minimalist sneaker landscape. Buy them now β†’

πŸ€ Undefeated Announces Air Jordan 4 Release

After launching a microsite in early July to build anticipation for the return of its legendary Air Jordan 4 collaboration, Undefeated has now confirmed an official release date: August 2nd. Nearly 20 years after its original debut, the Undefeated x Air Jordan 4β€”widely considered one of the greatest sneaker collaborations of all timeβ€”is set to make its long-awaited return. First released in 2005 in an ultra-limited run of just 72 pairs, the coveted olive-and-orange colorway is back in 2025, updated with subtle modifications that further cement its legacy.

This time around, the Undefeated x Jordan 4 will feature the model’s classic β€œNike Air” branding on the heel and outsole. The new Undefeated 4 has already made a few notable appearancesβ€”spotted on the feet of Corteiz founder Clint Ogbenna at Paris Fashion Week, Lil Yachty, and Union’s owner Chris Gibbs.

Additional details are expected to surface in the weeks leading up to the pair’s August 2nd release. Keep it locked to the Culture Kicks newsletter to stay up-to-date on the latest.

πŸ‘Ÿ adidas Honors Ozzy Osbourne's Final Concert With Friends & Family adidas Birmingham’s

Weeks after the final performance of his legendary careerβ€”at the Back to the Beginning benefit concert in Birmingham, Englandβ€”Ozzy Osbourne passed away at the age of 76 on July 22nd. The concert served as a farewell show for Ozzy and his band, Black Sabbath. In celebration of the event, adidas created exclusive Friends & Family colorways of the adidas Birmingham.

Limited to just 121 pairsβ€”an homage to Birmingham’s area codeβ€”the shoe features premium materials, tonal black uppers with contrasting purple accents, and subtle co-branding that nods to both the city and the Prince of Darkness himself. In a fitting touch, the date of Ozzy’s final concert is inscribed on the inner side of the tongue.

Ozzy leaves behind an unrivaled legacy in both music and pop culture. And now, thanks to this ultra-rare sneaker, the Black Sabbath frontman is forever immortalized in sneaker history, too.

Lil Yachty Teases Unreleased Concrete Boys x Nike Air Force 1 Low β€œBlack/Red” in New Music Video

Lil Yachty’s Concrete Boys x Nike Air Force 1 Low has emerged as one of 2025’s most hyped sneaker collaborations. Following the early 2000s-inspired β€œLucky Green” and β€œWhite/Midnight Navy” releases, the retro basketball silhouette looks poised to continue its momentum. Most recently, a new β€œBlack/Red” colorway was teased in Yachty’s I Need Meds music video, sparking speculation about what’s next in the rapper’s creative partnership with Nike. As Lil Boat continues to push the boundaries of style and nostalgia, fans can expect more heat from this standout collaboration.
